A Trip Abroad – How to Make it Cheap?

With more and more people choosing to go abroad for their holidays, the question of how to save during the trip becomes crucial. Yet, it really doesn't have to cost the earth to be able to visit the most popular destinations. Here are top five tips to help you.

Tip #1 Don't use regular airlines
The exorbitant prices they charge are quite often inadequate. Simply check out the so-called budget airlines or low-costs to get a much better deal on your next flight.

Tip #2 Avoid staying in hotels
If you are on a tight budget, it makes sense to rent a room through Air BnB, or even get free accommodation with Couchsurfing. A pleasant bonus to both would be a taste of local life. Plus, you could ask your hosts to show you around a bit.

Tip #3 Be an early bird
Seeing more of the country you came to is always a good idea. Yet, unless you have money to burn, you might wanna look for tickets well in advance as many companies offer early-bird discounts. Trains can quite often be pricey, so check out coaches instead.

Tip #4 When in Rome – do as Romans do
It can be very enticing to eat at the first café or restaurant you see, but you can get ripped off if you are not careful. Most of those places are touristy, which means the prices there are way higher, yet the quality may not be that good. Look at local blogs and websites with the best places to eat or simply ask your host.

Tip #5 Don't pay straight away – check for discounts
Obviously, once you are done with the basic sightseeing, you might want to go to the theatre, cinema or some other places, which might often cost an arm and a leg. Don't be to quite to pay the whole price; look for discounts on local coupon websites, such as Giftcard Granny in the US. You can save up to 50 percent that way.

And finally, remember, it's not about how nice the seats in your airplane were or how cute you hotel room looked; it's more about what you have seen and experienced. So start planning your next trip, and try to use the given tips.
