Story 10. Hide-and-seek

Pinky is ill today and she can't go outside. So, I say my magic words and appear in her bedroom. She is in her bed with an orange blanket and she is very sad. Pinky says:

“Hello, Greeny!”

And I say:

“Hi, Pinky! I know what can make you feel better. Let's play hide-and-seek!”

“But Greeny, I don't know how to play this game”

“Don't worry, Pinky. It is very easy. You close your eyes and count to twenty and I hide in this room. Then you need to find me.”

And Pinky closes her eyes, she starts counting:

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine…”

I look around and see yellow curtains. I hide behind the curtains, but I think Pinky will find me very quickly here, so I try to find another place to hide. And Pinky goes on counting:

“Ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen…”

Then I see the closet, I get inside the closet and hide there. Pinky finishes counting:

Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty! Greeny, I will find you!”

She looks behind the curtains – I am not there. Then she opens the closet – and there I am!

“Now it's your turn to hide” – I say and start counting to twenty.

When I finish and open my eyes I can't see Pinky in this bedroom. I look in the closet – she is not there, I look behind the curtains and under the bed – she isn't there too. I look at the shelves in the cupboard – she isn't there. I can't find her. I say:

“Pinky, where are you? Piiinkyyy!”

And I hear her laughing. I look at her bed – and there she is!

“Ha-ha! Greeny, I hid in my bed under my blanket and I put my head under my pillow!”

“Well, Pinky, you are the best hide-and-seek player!”

Now Pinky is happy and I know she will be better soon.
